{Post 1,342} More Sewing Area Updates

The above picture is my completely empty pegboard.  Let's see how it will look afterwards!  I hope to keep most of the stuff on my cutting table on there.  I painted it the same color as the wall.

Next up is one more spool rack I got in GA this past weekend.  It will help me empty one more drawer.

One last picture from the wedding.  Susie made her dress.  This is with her parents (me & Wes) and her husband's parents.

My daughter, Susie, got married in GA this past Saturday.  I wish her many years of wedded bliss.

Here's a picture to start things off.  Some very funny expressions.  As I look at it, the old Heinz ketchup commercial song keeps running through my head..."Anticipation...anticipation, is making me wait"...

{#771} Even MORE Wedding Pics

There are times when deciding ahead has its advantages.  I did not take a camera to the set-up, rehearsal, or wedding.  Decided that ahead of time.  Now I'm sharing pictures I've borrowed from others.  It will be a while before we get the ones from the professional.

Here is Wes bringing in Emily at the wedding beginning.  She.  was.  resplendent.

This was quite possibly the most lovely wedding cake I've ever seen.  AND it was delicious.  A woman in our church made it for Emily.

{#770} A Few MORE Wedding Pics

Here is a picture of the lovebirds loading up some of the reception decor...stumps.  Emily is obviously enraptured with Steve's huge muscles!!

Just an aside...they didn't have ANY physical contact until the wedding ceremony!

Below is Emily and her flower girl, Jules, the day of the wedding.

The bridesmaids are starting to enter...cue ecstatic groom.  This is right after Steve caught my eye and mouthed, "THANK YOU!!!"...we both almost started crying.

MY vehicle decorated...the 13th was my 23rd anniversary.

The decorators got carried away.  Funny side story...they decorated the wrong car!  They thought Steve and Emily were leaving in his parents car, and we just let them think that.  Wes had hidden their car so it would be prank-free.

{#769} A Few Wedding Pics

Certainly not high-quality photos, but here are a few shots of the wedding.  The top one is the fathers of the couple coming up to pray for the bride and groom.  The bottom one is as our pastor announces the new man and wife.  I am exhausted and hurt all over. 

I have much, much more to show and tell about this most special day, but I don't even have the strength to put away our goods from the day.  Good night!

Less Than a Day Now

By this time tomorrow, my daughter will be a married woman.  Today was spent decorating, decorating, and decorating.  I spent hours ironing tablecloths.  We had a great time.  I made lunch for everyone that helped...simple crockpot stuff.

The church and reception hall look fantastic.  Rehearsal was short and sweet. 

I'll be sharing pictures soon.  Above is a pic of the ecstatic couple.  Happy just doesn't cut it!

I'm exhausted.  Wish me well!  No tears yet!

Did I Miss Something??

Yesterday at church, people kept asking me one of the following questions...

~Are you nervous yet?

~Are you stressed-out yet?

~Are you worried yet?

~How ARE you?  (with a worried expression on their faces)

~Ready for this to be over?

I kept responding with a blank look as if I had no idea what they were referring to.  OF COURSE I know Emily is getting married this week.  The planning has gone so well.  Emily is very organized, and we have a fantastic woman from our church who is our volunteer coordinator.  So, for those of you who must know...

I am not nervous, stressed-out, or worried--YET.  If I do get to that state, you'll be the first to know!  I am the complete and unexplainable blend of ecstatic and sad.  My big goal is not to cry all week...at all.  I'll let you know how that goes.

Yeah--It Fits!!

I waited outside Rachel's closet with bated breath as she tried on the bridesmaid dress I made for her last week.  It fits!!  Yippee!

{754} Flower Girl

We are going to be adding a wide purple ribbon for a sash, but here she is...

Emily says it fits perfectly.  Now to sew that hem for real!

{753} A Little Piecing

Wanted to show you the little quilty sewing that's been going on around here.  The above picture (in pink) is from a magazine.  I wanted to make one, but could not find a pink I liked.  So I got a Civil War blue instead.  A few days ago, Emily (my soon-to-be-married daughter) said something about wanting a small quilt for their bedroom (which happens to be blue and chocolate brown).  I admitted that I had this kit under my sewing table.  She really likes it and asked me to make it for HER instead of ME.  I had to agree. 

Instead of getting the fabrics that the pattern suggested (1/4 yards of the browns), I got fewer pieces, but got 1/3 yards.  I made all I could from one brown to see if I'd have enough.  Yep--looks like a go.  It will still be slightly scrappy.  This is not Thimbleberries.  Shocking, I know.

Wedding preparations include me sewing a bridesmaid gown and jacket and doing lots of baking and cooking.  I am about to cut out the gown.  Sewed the flower girl dress last night and finished it this AM except for the hem.  It is sleeveless, fully-lined, with invisible zipper and lots of hand sewing.  I worked on it for about 8 hours total so far.  It will have a wide dark purple ribbon for a sash, but here it is...

A bridesmaid's dress is hanging behind it.  Emily wanted the flower girl to be a miniature of her, not match the bridesmaids.  It's her wedding, and that's what she wants.  I think it's cute!
