This is really what I was looking for with those blocks. Now I can plan how many blocks I want for a large throw and get cutting. It looks like I'll have a lot more piecing time away from home, so I need to have a stack of pieces cut and ready to sew!

Love the look with the sashings and small 9 patch. It adds a lot to the quilt. I will keep this idea for a string quilt in my future. Hope your day is awesome.

Joan - we think way too much alike, someitmes! I googled "string quilts" once & came up with a whole bunch of ideas & one is similar to this layout. I always end up with so many strips left over after I'm done with my pineapple quilts - so I like to have a string quilt idea in my head ready for it!
