{#774} Machine Quilting Finished

I made one of this pattern for a friend for her birthday about 5 years ago. The pattern is called Scrap Bag Stars.Above are some close-ups.

She then pieced this lovely top for her daughter who is getting married in October.  She made two others that I will also be quilting later.
I finished the machine quilting this for her this AM.  Now she has time to bind it!

{#773} A Quilty Post!

While I was in Ohio last time, I went to a Jo-ann Fabrics store and perused their books.  I need a new quilt book like I need...oh, never mind! I bought a book--so sue me!  This is one of the blocks in the book, and boy do they work up fast.  Plus, there's hardly any waste.  Cut a red or green 2-1/2" strip width of fabric, and one of cream, and get 3 six-inch blocks.  Marvelous!

Another plus...these bonus Broken Dishes blocks that finish at about 3" square.  I'm thinking ahead for some Christmas gifts.  This size would be great for a table runner or wall hanging.  One of my own favorite quilts is this one...same blocks!  (click on the green words to go to the page showing that quilt).

Off to watch a movie with the family and then hit the hay.  I've been awake since 3 AM.  We helped a family move in to this area today by unloading their moving van.  They plan to join our church.  I met them back in July.  We welcomed them with a home made meal they could use for supper and lots of unloading help.

I also machine-quilted half of a twin-sized throw this AM before starting to cook for the other family.  Busy times, busy times!

{#772} Pothos Overload

This is a golden pothos plant.  I have had the same one since before I was married.  It is now a great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-grandmother plant.  I was going to take a picture of it, but Rachel took my camera card and has not returned it.

I had a little one with 4 stems in a hanging planter in my kitchen until Emily's wedding.  We used live plants (all ferns and pothos) in the decorating.  She patiently unwound the many loops of pothos from the planter.  You see, as it grew and hung down, I'd just loop it up over the top of the planter.

It stretched all the way across the bench in my kitchen.  I decided to measure one of the longest stems which actually had been looped over the pot 3 times and as a result had rooted in a loop.  The info I read online said it can reach up to 8 feet long.  Since you can believe everything you read on the internet, it must be true.  Mine was 16 feet.

{#771} Even MORE Wedding Pics

There are times when deciding ahead has its advantages.  I did not take a camera to the set-up, rehearsal, or wedding.  Decided that ahead of time.  Now I'm sharing pictures I've borrowed from others.  It will be a while before we get the ones from the professional.

Here is Wes bringing in Emily at the wedding beginning.  She.  was.  resplendent.

Right after "her mother and I"...

This was quite possibly the most lovely wedding cake I've ever seen.  AND it was delicious.  A woman in our church made it for Emily.

Last for right now...with the second-best man and maid of honor.

{#770} A Few MORE Wedding Pics

Here is a picture of the lovebirds loading up some of the reception decor...stumps.  Emily is obviously enraptured with Steve's huge muscles!!

Just an aside...they didn't have ANY physical contact until the wedding ceremony!

Below is Emily and her flower girl, Jules, the day of the wedding.

The bridesmaids are starting to enter...cue ecstatic groom.  This is right after Steve caught my eye and mouthed, "THANK YOU!!!"...we both almost started crying.

MY vehicle decorated...the 13th was my 23rd anniversary.

The decorators got carried away.  Funny side story...they decorated the wrong car!  They thought Steve and Emily were leaving in his parents car, and we just let them think that.  Wes had hidden their car so it would be prank-free.

More later...
