{Post 1,361} Gift for New Friend

I just made this little case for the iPod Shuffle shown.  I LOVE my Shuffle.  If I hadn't made myself a case for mine, I am quite sure I would have lost it by now.  Or lost the headphones.  Or lost the charging cord.  You get the picture.  The Shuffle itself is 1-1/8" x 1-1/4".  Tiny.  It is meant to be clipped to clothing or something.  But it would be very easy to misplace.

My Shuffle is my companion at Planet Fitness 6 days a week.  I cannot tolerate the music played there, so I turn up the Shuffle and listen to good stuff.  Enough said.

I have a future friend (we haven't met in person yet) who is driving 2,000 miles over a period of a couple months.  I bought this for her.  To establish our friendship and to help her stay encouraged and uplifted with great worship music.  I downloaded some of my favorites.  I hope it can help keep her company while she drives.

{Post 1,360} Baby Bibs on Etsy

Every once in a while the mood hits me to make something to sell.  Above are two bibs I listed in my Etsy store (ShelbyStitcher).  They are upcycyled denim and buttons from a jumper.  I have some "boy" bibs in the works as well.  The backing fabric (owl print) is waterproof.  I used an elastic string and button to hold the bib on instead of a snap or Velcro.

What do you think?

{Post 1,359} Baby Quilt Nearly Pieced

My kids never check my blog, so this is safe.  I am this close to finishing the top for Elisabeth's sock monkey quilt top.  I need to get it done by the end of the month.  She is due June 23-30.

Oops...I spy a block turned the wrong way... do you??

{Post 1,358} A Second View

There is one block I didn't like much.  I stay-stitched it down the middle and chopped it in half to become a border block.  That is better!

{Post 1,357} Grandmother's Flower Garden Progress

Above is everything I have for my GFG quilt.  They nearly fill up the design wall from side to side, which is 48".  I am now determined to prep lots of diamonds and triangles of green to attach these together!  When someone asks I always say this is my nursing home project because that is where I'll probably be finishing it.

Life has been too busy lately.  I usually take one day at a time, but lately several days have attacked me at once.

{Post 1,356} Wire Brads

Here is a brad thru the corner of a quilt (the border is 3/4" finished).

Here it is just a tad away from the close-up (a 12" quilt).

I got these at Lowe's.  A lifetime supply.

{Post 1,355} Minis May Be Finished

Here is the back of my last mini (for now!):

Here is its front.  I found a bag of HST and put them to use way back for a mini.

Here it is hanging out with friends.

I used something I got at Lowe's called wire tacks for hanging them.  I just tapped them with a hammer right through the top corners of the quilt right inside the binding.  Hardly noticeable, but very sturdy.

I have fabric to recover the ironing board and to make a curtain to hang down in front there.

These days it seems to take me forever to get anything done.  I don't know how I took care of a husband and 8 children for all the years that that happened.

There is one more suit jacket for me to hem the sleeves, and then I will be finished with those 8 suits.  They've been haunting me for months now.  Another "friend" asked me to repair a comforter she uses on her bed.  It's store bought, silky fabric.  It has shredded along a seam.  I think hand-sewing the edges back together after taking it up a bit to get to usable fabric will do it.  But that's all hand sewing and very meticulous work.

Going to do that last suit today, then move on to other things.  Enjoy your day!
