Fall Decorations, Take 10 + 300th POST

Here is a view from one end of my table-for-10 to the other, showcasing my pumpkin salt & pepper shakers and fall runner. The shakers are from Diane, who also gave me the pumpkin centerpiece on my foyer table. The runner was a gift from my DH's stepmother. The candle on the other side of the napkin box has a lovely fall candle ring around its wrought iron stand, but you can't see it.

This is my 300th post. Hard to believe.

Fall Decorations, Take 9.1...The High Chair

Sam, one of my readers, was very observant about my last post. Under the pilgrims is an old high chair. In the picture, it is serving as my spider plant holder. The funny thing about the high chair is that during the lives of my 8 children, it was NEVER used.

It belonged to my neighbor growing up (hi, Nancy!). Her oldest son, who is about 10 years older than me, was her first to use it. She gave it to my dad to refinish for me. We never had room for it in our other 2 houses. Now I keep it in the kitchen for company with very small children. In the meantime, it does make a pretty plant stand.

We never had room in our kitchens for something so big. We just used one of the clip-on high chairs. Worked like a charm.

This is a wall hanging that I bought from a woman that sold her handiwork in my former home town. She inspired me to learn to tole paint, and I took 2 classes from her. I will be showing our original class project soon. Stay posted!

Fall Decorations, Take 8

This is the shelf over the sideboard in my very RED kitchen. I made the 2 fabric pumpkins. The scarecrow I snagged at a little shop in the town where we used to live. I look forward to seeing him every year.

The wooden bowl on the left was purchased on eBay from a woman who does lovely work. The RED walls make decorating for fall a challenge in here, but I'm muddling through! Here's a close-up of the bowl...

Fall Decorations, Take 7

This is a little wall quilt I was given by my friend, Laura. I haven't heard from Laura in years. Laura, if you're reading this, please write me!! For the past few years, I have made and sold these and also given many as gifts. None were made this year. Piecing has definitely taken a back seat to other activities in my life. This little number is about 14" x 16".

I love Log Cabin quilts and pumpkins. I consider this the best of both.

Is anyone else getting a craving for pumpkin pie squares??

I do love "welcome" signs. I have them all over the house. This one is above the phone in the kitchen. It's a painted slate. Are those pumpkins?? Imagine that!

I think I like pumpkins because they are supposed to be round.
